If it's being tough on left turns, I would imagine you would move the motor to starboard.

yes and if it works you can always just silicone the holes shut where old bolts went

Thank you very much. Im going to have to wait till i get home to do it. I may just pull the bolts out and slide it all the way over on the transom then have my neighbor weld the holes up the slide it back to where it needs to be

I have a big/heavy 18x60 also and I think I got best results moving it the other way QS - I'll recheck it when I get out to the barn tonight

The holes should be well above the waterline. No need to weld them, silicone will be fine.

Fighting to turn left? Im confused, move the motor left or right..? Its torqueing towards me, so its hard to make a left turn in the boat.

Fuck all the left and rights if the motor pushing to you move the motor away from you on the transom, as I mentioned before

It might be idk if he put it on there or not. The dog chewed the lid up and ruined it so we decided we'd see exactly what all they'd hold up to

Your not the first to have tiller torque issues with the new improved cast outdrive....

Get that addon wedge....

Post subject:  Re: GTR 37 EFI on 18x60 Go Devil **re-powered**

If his is anything like mine, it's not when running in a straight line. Mine will hold a straight line just fine and not beat me up at all. Turning to the right is easy as well. Turning to the left? Gotta put a foot up on the opposite side and yank that tiller to come around. To get it to straighten back out you have to grit and bear down and shoulder press the tiller away from you (maybe a little dramatic, but left turns are very difficult).

Since you cant bend cast, would it make any difference if i got someone to put a bead of weld or two to add onto the bend in the skeg?

Does your skeg not have a flare on the end on the left side?

Post subject:  Re: GTR 37 EFI on 18x60 Go Devil **re-powered**

Yeah it does. I just thought maybe if it had alittle more to it tjat it might help force the motor the other way.
