Well I picked up my new boat from GT this past week. Got it all wired yesterday and had to take it for a quick spin today. MM Brand: Gator Tail Horsepower: 35 GTR Stage 1 by Hoyt Boat Brand: Gator Tail Boat Size: 1754 Boat Layout: Open floor plan. Nothing special. Speeds | Shallow Water: Did not test yet. Speeds | Deep Water: 31-32 mph Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: Me & dog. Basically empty. Conditions Tested In: Calm River Comments: Boat gets on step quick. Once I hit about 32mph it starts to porpose. I need to play with the weight some, and drive it some more to get used to it in order to find the sweet spot. I like it a lot! Thanks again to the GT guys! |

Carry an extra battery up there on the port side or throw in a stereo cooler to help add some weight |

Well we took the boats out this weekend for some running. Haven't really got to play with it much yet. I can not be happier! This boat does just what I need...carries a load excellent! We went out Friday evening just cruising around in some shallow water. It was me, my dog, and my buddy. We ran about 33 mph on the GPS. Max speed I saw was 34.6. Saturday morning we took it out and wanted to see what kind of load it could handle. We put 5 guys in it, 2 batteries, a dog, and 6 gallons of fuel and it did awesome! Hopped up on plane and in shallow water is ran 28.5-29 mph. Deep water with this load was around 27 mph. I am a firm believer in these mods now!! If you want to carry a load, take your motor to Hoyt. Great engine work. Thanks again Hoyt! |

Thats the same that I was running when I had my modded GTR, if you get the extra money down the line throw a mikuni on it and you will like it even more. I know I did. |

CRACKED the block, thats why I'm trying out the generac. The generac isn't there yet but it runs real good. I will deck the heads after season and throw an exhaust on when I get one. Also going to check into the intake. The stock exhaust has a lot of restriction and its holding it back. Empty it runs 28-29.5 and loaded it has not dropped under 25 yet. After that I may get another briggs and work it over top to bottom to play with for chits and giggles. |
