My PD doesn't do good over a hard bottom. I trim it up and get out and push it till I get in good water or softer bottom.

I was hunting in dulac with the hard bottom in bayou black where I hut it isn't to hard but I need to get a smooth bottom boat cuz that express drags too much

ask RobertB4wd how a hard packed bottom does. We pushed his boat about 100 yds. before his prop would grab on anything saturday. the boat slid easily, but there wasnt enough mud, sure as hell no water, for the prop to catch on to.

Dulac - LOL

My kin in Bayou Blue all use folks from Dulac in their jokes
the way we Texans use aggies in our jokes.....

The lease that I hunted last year had a hard bottom. At one point it was about 6" once we would get out of the boat lanes. Most of the club members used LTs but a few of us had GTRs and PDs. It takes a little longer to get on plane but after that its fine. IMO.

The smaller the prop the better ;)

I can run in 4 inches of water with my 8" if my hull doesnt drag bottom.

Where at in Dulac? Only real hard bottom around there is oyster shells! I can tell you alot about that! Trust me.... seriously, if you had six inches of water the Gator Tail will perform great there. I don't run Dulac much but I wear out a couple props a year in cocodrie which is virtually the same place!

Let me tell you about hard bottom, IT SUCKS! Autogateman and myself know first hand. 100 yards, then we got right up and ran outta there as quick as we got in. As far as brands, everything out there got stuck in the hard bottm crap! Sand, well you get stuck and eat up a prop. Sand is a double kick in the balls. For the guy who said his GTR ran ok in hard bottom, it will run it but not get up. I'm not talking smack on you because my next one will be a GTR. If you look at the vids I just posted, there's a GTR stuck in the hard bottom crap. There's also a MB that stuck and broke a belt. I didn't want those guys to feel left out. :)

I've been hunting the Dulac side of the lake for some time now. That is an awesome blast and cast area. I've come home many times with limits of ducks and reds.

Yeah it is I been catching a few reds in my ponds but as for ducks it isn't producing as much as last year but it's been okay

Post subject:  Re: hard bottom

We had a 3 man limit on spoon yesterday morning. Even had to throw a few back that were over the size limit.
