I run a 16x44 gator trax guide with a PD36. Me n dad ran 29-31 gps (depending which way the water current was travling at the time) in a empty boat just 7 gals of gas an battery... Another guy at the gas pump was telling me he gets 23-24mph with a mudbuddy 35 same hull as I run... I'm not sure how equilivant a PD36 is compared to a 5500 black death... But boat wise this is the best handling boat I have road in due to the airboat inspired hull... Let me kno how it runs when you get it! |

You will run 30++ with a light load...your problem will be the rev limiter but that's not a bad problem to have.... |

my brother runs this same setup, just recently had a problem with the vibration of the motor breaking a peice of plastic that hold the coil pack or somethin like that, the guy said since that big of a motor was on such a small boat that a lot of the vibration was staying in the motor instead of disapating throughout the boat, the motor would rev up fine in neutral and in gear with the prop out of the water, but as soon as u put the prop in the water the motor would die at about 3000 rpm, fixed the problem. boat is like a rocket, running 34.1 in shallow with 3 people, he also has twin mikunis, bad ass rig man, ull love it |
