Ran into a 2007 Excel boat 1754 midwest edition w/ a 2007 35hp. mud buddy, and a 2007 river trail trailer. The motor is a 35hp. Briggs with 46 hours, BPS dual exhaust, and a tiger tail prop. Wondering if anyone runs one? likes? dislikes? Speeds? value? Thanks |

I ran one for 2 years with a 36 PD. They are good solid boats. Well built but HEAVY. They tend to slide a good bit too. That boat should run 26-27 empty and lose a couple mph's for every person you put into it with gear. Hard to say on value but I would say $9000 range assuming good condition on all. I liked the boat but my PD was not an ideal match for it and I really needed a narrower boat for my style of hunting. |

Very Heavy boats, some 1754's MW did not run well. I had a 1854MW with a 45Mag that was great but I also know one guy that had a 1754 that would not run well at all, he started with a MB35 and could barely plane with 2 guys and gear, upgraded to a 45MB and still had issues, ended up selling it and had a custom hull built (Geaux Custom).................The 45 he kept and it runs solid with his new boat.... I truely believe the foam in the floor holds water and adds the weight..My.02 |

Ditto on X gens post, seen some that ran (18') but had three 1754 MW editions traded in here because they could not plane with more then two guys with a stock 35-36hp motor. Heavy, Heavy, Heavy and most were .100 5052, dented up like crazy. Might look like a good deal, but be sure you run it personally with a load before spending you money. PW |

I ran one for a year. HATED the proformance. It was a nice dry ride and very stable. Also I hit a tree going about 11 or 12 mph and destroyed the bow. JMO |
