Post Breaux 2054 Bateau aka "Large Marge"
Go big or go home...... that's my motto now! I couldn't be happier with the way my new rig turned out. This thing is a freaking beast.

Thanks to Jim aka Divinduck as I pretty much copied the design of his boat ,except larger.

Ricky with Camo Designs did the paint/ hydroturf. They did an excellent job as well.

Brother builds one heck of a boat at a reasonable price. Give him a shot at your business if you are looking to have one built!

1. 20x54 with 21” sides, tall transom- 12* angle for PD 36 long shaft, square chine

2. Battery tray mounted under hatch for 2nd battery

3. Transom end cap with mount for electrical switches

4. 4 ft. front deck with 18" x 36" Wide top hatch on front deck

6. Removable Grab Bar

7. Trolling motor bracket

8. 2 movable hunt seat bases

9. 2" oversized drain plug in center of transom

10. gas tank drop in next to front deck

11. 60" Welded gun box on port side of boat (opens up under front deck for rod storage) Drain plug at the back of box.

12. Spud Pole kit

13. 3 pedestal seat bases

14. winch mount

14. Fully welded and sealed full floor

15. Pipe in crimp to run wires

16. Drink and shell holder on driver's side, transom

17. 6 Tie up spots

18. 5086 aluminum .125 all with spray crimp, 6 2x2 longitudinal floor braces

I'll post up speeds/performance once I've had some stick time on her. I think I am having a problem with my throttle, so I need to get that worked out.

Is that the seat base like what Gator Tail is selling? I heard BB was buidling them and was looking into getting a couple. Post a couple more pictures of them.

Congrats on the rig.

Post Re: Breaux 2054 Bateau aka "Large Marge"
I took the boat out for a quick run yesterday and something is definitely wrong...... I run a stage one with a cam PD 36 and could only get 16-20 mph in deep water at 3700 rpms?????? I trimmed it up with a little higher rpms but the speed would drop and the tiller torque was a killer. I currently have a new 12x14 hopkins prop. I may put on an old stock prop and see if that is the culprit....

I was running around 33 mph in my pd 1848.

I thought my throttle was screwed up, but I made an adjustment and it feels fine now. The engine is also missing a little so I'm wondering if I'm not getting air in the fuel line somewhere!

Suggestions???

Very nice boat...I'm going to have to get brother to make me some of those seat bases.

On your motor, you might check to see if it is running on 2 cylinders or just one...sounds to me like you dropped 1.

crank the motor, and while it's running, pull one spark plug wire, put it back on, and do the other side. see if it makes a difference.

I got the bolt off and the flywheel key is sheared. However, the flywheel and crank are now lined up perfectly instead of offset, so I don't know if this is the problem or not????

Bad Ass Rig - Brother had just finished yours when I showed up to get mine. We stood there and looked at it in awe. That thing is an absolute beast. Asked Brother, "whats he putting on there?, Duals"?, Nope, Stage 1.

Idont think it is a problem that the flywheel and crank are now lined up that just means that your timming is not advanced now . I personally would purchase another timing key from EVT to advance the timing back especialy with a stage I and cam .

Take some valve lapping compound and lightly lap the flywheel to the crank prior to installing the key, and clean any residue off prior to final assembly.
This seems to help some in keeping the flywheel from shifting and shearing the key prematurely also wedge a piece of match or toothpick in the gap by the key.

Full Throttle, when you get a chance I would appreciate the dimensions of the seat base and the dimension of how high it is. Thanks in advance.

Well, my boat ain't officially fixed, but I have finally figured out the problem. Took it out this evening, and was able to get 27.5 mph @ 4300 rpms with a moderate load and 29 @ 4400 rpms empty. All in deep water. Something is wrong with the carb/throttle cable. These speeds were achieved by the accelerator pump actually pushing up past the white teflon wheel, which tells me I'm not getting full travel on the throttle cable and the carb is not opening all the way up.

I have a Motion Pro custom cable and Drag Specialties throttle on the way, so I'm hoping I can get it adjusted right so I can get these speeds consistently! Thenks to all involved in helping me troubleshoot this thing, especially Mudd and DB8.

Glad you are getting it figured out. I had a pretty good idea it wasnt the boat and probably something small. Hopefully you should be able get that big rig to run 30 + once you get it all lined out.
