36 PD/fpr with BPS 45 internals and Mikuni single carb 1854 full floatation PD boat with livewell, 8' gunbox, extended deck, side console, pointed bow, and MB QuickFlip blind this is one heavy boat with all the extras installed. Before the mods I would get around 23-25 with a normal duck hunting load of all equipment, blind, 8 dozen decoys and 2 guys in deep water. After the mods (with a used prop that is about 85%) I can get a solid 28 with the same equipment. I get around 28 with a 750 lb load and around 26.5 with 1250 lbs in the boat besides the motor and extras themselves. Empty boat except 11 gallons of gas, myself at 220 lbs, and some basic tools and equipment I can get 29+ in deep water. I haven't really tested it for speed in shallow water but I'm confident I can break 30 if I really wanted to. I could also gain a little speed if I took the silencer out of the muffler which I have no plans to do because of the excessive noise. All speeds are with minimal wind and current although with the mods those conditions don't seem to affect speed much. It's not a speed demon by any means, but the motor will hold it's own with just about any amount of weight in the boat. I've run over many sandbars that are right under the water that I haven't seen until I'm right on them without any problems, some were over 40 yards long and as long as I'm on step going over them I haven't seen any problems. I love the console even though I know there's not much tiller torque to the PD. Can't wait to get the hydro reverse in to make it much more enjoyable though! I'm not to keen on the MB blind, but it came with the boat. It's just too heavy to setup and adjust, but it's built solid. The pics I've attached are mostly before I camoed it and added the BPS mods but you get the idea of the layout to see that it's one heavy boat. |

couple more pics BTW, mods were done through Mudd at http://www.allmudmotors.com/ and it made things go extremely well even though I was 4 hours away and I would definitely deal with him again. |

how do you think the MB quick flip would fold up/travel completely covered with grass....like fast grass. Thinkin about getting one for my PD ....boat looks good....and heavy |

I don't think it would travel well at all or fold up for that matter. I've got a bunch of rafia grass and it folds up pretty decent. I'd look into a gooseview, that would be my first choice for a blind I think. |

I have that same MB blind. It works well, just heavy, the frame is steel pipe. My last boat blind was the Avrey Quickset blind it was lighter, but the MB blind is easier to set up and easy to take out. I like that because I dont hunt from the boat every trip. |

34" high. The blind sucks, but I don't know if there is a better choice. I've cut it down almost a full 12" to hide it a little better. It's a pain to setup, but I was used to the Beavertail blind before that. I actually put on another brace like the BT blind uses so it folds over my head without that stupid heavy ass pole hitting me in the head every time!! |
