I cannot tell you enough about these guys in small town Covington, La. These are the best guys to do business with and do everything they can to please the customer. I picked up my motor on Saturday (From Birmingham), chatted with them an hour, and wished we could have stayed to go riding. If I ever have to do business again, I would like for them to give me the excellent service like I got from Copperhead.
Not to mention their product is bad@$$!

Yea it was the 6.5 modded out, I want to see the larger motor like the 12 or 18 modded out. I hit 22 with mine running two people and gear.

i believe 30 is possible with the 18 on the "right" boat weighing probably 250ibs. however it would be scary going any faster in a lil boat like that, in them 1436 jons its more or less sit down surfing rather than riding in a boat

Been busy...Last week of teaching so its been paperwork a mile high! Ran it last week and hit 20 in deep water...Mind you this is a 1636 boat made in 1978. Bottom is in incredible shape and not washboarded. I am buying parts starting hopefully this week or next. I will be posting a video of the adventure along the way.

Well...I used to have a 13 but gill and josh @ copperhead said itvwas putting out about 8. So today I finished putting a 16 hp head on and running out on the lake Saturday. Video will be posted that evening
I have the same weight as a 13 and same modifications can be done except I'm starting with 28 rated ft/lbs of torque at 2500 rpm and 16 hp. Could be interesting

Now I'm struggling with throttle setup and tweakin the governor. Any ideas on governor other than getting rid of it?

This is stage 1 which we took the governor out and installed HD valve springs which are I think 32lbs. This is on a 16x36 riveted jon with 2 people and river ratting gear (noodles, cooler, and rods/tackle). Sorry for grainy footage, iphone don't film good! Lol

So. Now I'm trying to get a wider and probably shorter boat. Hoping this will allow me to get a little more speed and ability to haul more weight.

Wider yes, shorter no.

I have now bought a 1542 allweld tracker...I also got a 23hp gdlt in the buy so I have it to get rid of. It needs a little work but it is in decent shape. Can't wait to strap my copperhead to the new rig
