Hey guys, i just bought a 1651 Excel Viper w/ a MB 35 HD Sport. I love the boat and it is spectacular in the shallows. I was wondering what you guys thought on this combo.

Its a nice rig. Dont let these guys who are running these 12/14 foot jons ruin the excitement of your new ride. My F4 has done everything Ive expected it to do. Have fun with your ride. Ive had mine over a year and I'm still pleased with it

Your welcome man. They are great rigs. Yes Excel made a mistake in offering the boats in .100 5052. But there were people who wanted to cut a few hundred bucks and buy it. Then trash it in a stump hole and get on here and complain. They knew what they was buying

IMO thats the best looking production aluminum boat out.

Not ta be a bringer a bad news too but I got rid a mine after a year. CS was the worst I've ever seen. Boat floated way too deep and was way tok heavy fer the size compared ta others. My bro is makin the same move.

i agree with podcast. i looked at excel for a long time and did my research before i bought my rig and i am glad i did not get one now. You should be happy with your motor though.

Post subject:  Re: Excel/Mud Buddy

Should either be a swv or f4 if it is a true mud hull. The Viper hull is not

Post subject:  Re: Excel/Mud Buddy

Yup. That is V hull. You're robbin that motor of performance. Same hull I had. Good hull fer an outboard but they hang low in the water and don't feed yer motor the water it needs.

Post subject:  Re: Excel/Mud Buddy

If he bought from a dealer i surely hope they wouldn't have put a mm on a v-bottom. Are you positive its not shallow water viper? Or is it plain as day not a flat bottom?

Author:  mudlife1234 [ Fri Aug 10, 2012 9:21 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Excel/Mud Buddy

I bought from a dealer and it is a slick bottom(no ribs) shallow water viper.

"Its completely flat"

Then its not a viper, its a (swv) shallow water v,,, v meaning pointed bow

Can also get a swf which is a flat front
