I've got a custom built 15' x 46" Borel boat and I got Justin Peltier from Groves to get me a GTR35 with a 32" shaft. Took it out a few times fishing in deep water just to break it in and get the hang of it. Finally brought it to Dam-B to try it out in the mud. It's incredible!! I went places that I didn't know existed. There's nothing that can hide from this beast now. It handles mud, grass, stumpy back water, and anything else like a champ! I had two big ol' boys and a huge cooler full of ice and adult beverages and we were literally going places that there wasn't an inch of water. I love it so much I think I'm going to conceive my next 5 children on the front deck while covered in mud and name them all after Justin Peltier!!! Not sure if they'll all have the same momma either cause this thing is a panty dropper! May name my boat the SS Japanese cause it'll sure help get in tight wet places like Japanties!!

1546 is a little hull for you + 2 big ol boys and hydration devices!

Although if you have been hanging with Pelter to long your definition of "big ol boys" may be a bit off.

Although your boat naming sentence may be my new signature!:lol:

BrackIV, this is Brian Curtis.

TX Aggie, you do have a point. Us smaller people that like the marsh more than likely derived from the Fukawee indians which inhabitated the marshes between Galveston Bay and Lake Charles. They were pygmy indians which is part of where they got their name because they would hunt in the tall marsh grass all day and by the end of the day were lost and would have to stand on each others shoulders to see saying "Where tha Fukawee?" which the Spanish conquistadors thought they were saying "We're the Fukawee."

Woodiebuster, This isn't my first boat and won't be my last but it will hold up much better than any of my others. As soon as it is worn out I'll be sure to take the motor off and put it on another boat just like this one.

It sounds like you know about as much as aluminum boats as you do motor mods, Justin.

A cross braced boat is a cross braced boat.

I very much admire the GT design and know there are tons of positive reviews both about the motor and the company and QC and CS. How does the GT perform in any shallow, hard bottom areas? Just asking because there are not many in this whole state and I'm studying its possible application to the conditions I've described. I have run a longtail for years because it works here- just wondering if this shortail will do the same?
