 Bass Tracker 17'
Hey Guys - first time post so bare with me.
I have a 16'4 Bass Tracker that currently has a 40HP Johnson Outboard - but I'm looking to convert the boat over to a Mudder!
I have been doing some research on motors but wanted to get some insight on what you guys thought about what would be enough power.
Boat is around 760lbs Dry - looking for normal speeds - around 20-25MPH

 Re: Bass Tracker 17'
suggestion, sell boat and buy a boat made for mud. that v hull of your bass tracker will not take to mud as well you'd like.

 Re: Bass Tracker 17'
I did the same with a 17' bass tracker. Hulled it out, made my own decks similar to an Excel & put a MB 44V on it. Did good for what it was. Hauled 4 people and gear all season. I got and Excel F86 now tho and it does perform better. But doing like your doing will alow you to get a motor now and a different boat later.

 Re: Bass Tracker 17'
Ran 28mph with just me. Ran 24-26 with 4 people and gear depending on how rough the lake was. The only issue is getting on plane with a load. I would have to get the trim just rite and then she would roll out. I have pics of the entire build. Ill try to find them and get them to you.

 Re: Bass Tracker 17'
I put in a 5gallon atwell removeable tank. Ran dual batteries in the back. Made the back deck kinda like a horse shoe with 3 dry boxes. 1 dry box on front deck. Installed flush nav lights on the front. Wrapped it with Duckblind camo vinyl.
