I posted these pics in the Longtail section, but thought it might be better here. I just bought this boat last week. They had built it for someone and guy wanted to go a different route. It's 17' long, 40'' bottom and 18'' sides. It's pretty close to what I would have had made myself, I would have got a 42'' maybe 44'' bottom. It was built for a surface drive so the transom is to high, but I added about 5'' the cavitation plate so it's ok for now. It's running 18 mph by myself with a 23hp godevil, with an additional 200lb person I'm losing 1 mph. |

Yeah. The prop has a big a$$ 1/4'' ding in it, so I need to get a new one. And I'm going to get him to cut the transom down to 16 or 17''. After that I hope to get 19, fingers crossed for 20, but that's about what I expected. |

I've read a crap load of treads on it and I'm going to paint and put GG on after the season. I don't know if I can wait the week cure time. This year I've got deer on the brain, not ducks. The shinny log is easy to find in the woods. If I could get 3 more mph that would be awesome! |

Yeah, I wouldn't mind finding a "bargain" on an aluminum skiff for a 16 HP GD. I would be happy to have one like that one. Good find. Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |

Thanks guys! It was under $3000, a little extra for the built in gas tank. Sure glad I got that. I'll add some more pics as I go. Next step is to get that transom cut down. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk |

If you go with GG, make sure you put some guides on the back of that trailer! One broken strap and your transom will meet concrete quick!!! Sent from my iPhone using |

Post subject: | Re: Extreme Mertal Fabrications Boat |
^^^^^what he said! Get side bunks mounted on that trailer and get good transom straps. Then, make sure you tie your bow rope to the winch bracket. Experienced that one the other day. Winch strap broke on the way to boat ramp. Bow was a good 8" off the front stop. Transom strap and side bunks what kept it on the trailer! Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |

Post subject: | Re: Extreme Mertal Fabrications Boat |
Yeah, side bunks or rollers are next on the list. That trailer was for my house boat in my avatar, it was a super pain in the ass to put that thing on there, especially when the wind takes it. I just never got around to it because I didn't take it on and off that much. I bringing it tomorrow to get the transom cut down, so we will see how it does this weekend. I don't think it will help on speed, just my arm! |

Man I'm sorry but I feel like you over payed for that boat big time. I hope you get alot of good use out of it though, and that it serves you well. Congrats on the new rig. |

Nice boat for sure but seems very simple to build and shouldn't take too long especially with no longitudinal braces. Don't know about the price if its too low or too high though. Congrats on the rig!! Sent from my beeper. |

Post subject: | Re: Extreme Mertal Fabrications Boat |
I kind of worded that wrong. It was $2600 for boat with built in metal gas tank. I've looked around and could not find anyone to build for that. I spent about $400 for battery and all the lights and crap. I was worried about the ribs, but that's how they build a lot down there. If it can carry a thousand + lbs of crawfish, I think it can handle me..lol Got transom cut down today, so we shall see how it does this weekend. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk |

Yeah I been on here awhile. I don't post much. I'll probably make a post when I'm finished with it. That skiff should run that main line pretty damn good. Kinda miss the ole place |

I definitely put it to the test this weekend down the main line.I got the transome cut down and its a lot better in my arm, didn't pick up any speed though... Allen, you can come anytime, hit me up. First weekend of dogs wasn't too good, Spanky killed a 7pt that's all. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk |

My plan is to gator glide and paint all at once. She probably wouldn't care too much. Really I can't wait for the 5 day dry time, and I'm sure it would be longer now that its colder..the next 3 weeks it's going to be runnin at least every other 2-3 days. My house boat hasn't ever been there, that's what I bought it for, but my trailer was never good enough to make the trip. I know of one other kind of like it but it has been drydocked for about 15 years. Hopefully next year you may see it..lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk |
