Comments: First, sorry for the review taking so long, many had asked about it but I didn't want to give a review until I had plenty of experience with the boat.

I have had this boat since the beginning of May. I feel I got exactly what I wanted and the process went very well. I was quoted 8 weeks to build and it was just that to the day. Justin ( Take em Gator) was very helpful as a Pro-staffer and Bubba was very cool, even when I wanted pictures all the time. Justin guided me in the right direction for what I wanted.

I do everything out of this boat, albeit I'm not much for offshore or big open water. This boat fulfills all my boat needs, from gigging, to stalking reds, to duck hunts.

One other thing I feel needs to be said is there was a period where I asked the forum a lot of questions regarding engine stuff and speeds of other similar boats. Well if you notice the speeds above you will see i'm right where most are. I credit this to the engine not being broken in and equally to an inexperienced driver. By that I mean it took me a while to actually get in some shallow stuff where this boat shines. I must also say that Mr. Broussard called me a few months back inquiring as to what could cause me to not be getting higher speeds and even offered possible solutions. I cant say it enough how nice it was to hear someone a few months after getting the boat trying to ensure I was happy with my purchase from them.

Heres a few pictures to end it..

I dig it man. I am running just about the exact same setup as you. Numbers are just about right on with me. I seemed to do fine with 3 people and hunt load, although it took 3 times as long to get on plane, it got there and seemed to handle well for the load. I love these boats, can't think of much I would do different.

Wow, can't believe that shallow water makes such a difference. I need to find some shallow water to see what I can get out of my 25GTR. THhe only time I ran it solo was in 20 feet of water.

Nice review man! I love my set up as well! The only time I had trouble getting home is when I stuck it on a sandbar without a winch...I bought a winch the next day.

Glad your enjoying your rig, I really like my 25 too. Those speeds are pretty consistent with what I'm getting.

What's the gray tab on your control box in the "typical hunt load" picture. Is it a neutral switch extension? If so can I get a better picture and how you made it?

We need some mods for these 25's. .... i want a cam!!!! My 25 falls off a lot with 3 in deep water... no problem in shallow water with 3.....Cam and programmer is what I am hoping for in the coming year.

Great review.... i had a 36 pd before getting the 25 gtr..... i do miss the torque of the big block.....The 25 does get weak with a 3 person and gear load....... but runs perfectly with 2 and gear....

Thought would update with additions and add some videos of the rig.

Heres a link to my GatorGlide thread:

I have noticed some performance gains mph wise over the last month. More than likely from the prop wearing and my driving skills getting better.

SETX Mudrun

I for one was very impressed with what my boat did. In retrospect I wish I would have got into a lot more stuff but I had the wife and really didn't want to get wild with her in the boat, and never hear the end of it. I stopped and started in some natty stuff and was very happy with what the boat did.

Cruising Moon pond.

I know I've put all this stuff up in various places but I wanted to have them in the review if anyone were to actually use the Search function all my boats info/videos would be here.

Looks good Perkins! How did you flip your boat over? I want to slick my boat, but I run around a rock river to much. I think I would just tear it up GG. I could use the easy on off the trailer the most. Some of the launch spots don't have enough water to reach the bunks. Anyone you know slick just their bunks?

Nice review. Informative, good read, updated, and not NINJA'ED up. Love it. Keep up the good work

Post subject:  Re: 1646 GTB, 25 GTR reveiw.

Cajun, flipping the boat wasn't too bad. It took three guys, it was harder flipping it back upright. If you just want the bunks slick look into poly covers for the. 2x4's. Though Gatorglide is for sure a worth while investment .

I can push my boat off the trailer on level ground with one hand. I'm stuck on the couch with a torn ligament in my ankle, when I get released I'll get some footage of how I load unload the boat with the GG.

Thanks for the compliments on my host and review!

Would you expect the same performance out of this rig w/o the huntdeck? Better performance? Worse?

It would be the same.

^-- exactly. The boat dimensions are the exact same.
