Did you get a chance to run your new Boss motor yet? I haven't found many reviews on them, but none that I've read are negative. Boss seems to have put together a quality motor. I understand they may still have some ties with Mud Buddy and everyone will have a different opinion on that, but my mind is all but made up to look at Boss as well. Any reviews would be appreciated

Great motor . Quick throttle response. Very smooth to handle. Digs like a bull dozer. Hand on when it bites. Got stuck once. My fault. Thrown from the boat once. Again my fault. I'm running it on a express 15x48. Not the right boat for the job. But it'll work till my 18x48 gets built. Customer service is awesome. Don't be fooled by nah sayers. It might look like a mud buddy. But it's far from it. that includes customer service. I've ran four tanks threw it. Marsh land and heavy timber. it's a beast.

Glad to see you like it. Did you by chance purchase from Southern Outdoor & Marine in Houma, LA ? I would be a 1st time mud motor owner, only had 2nd hand experience with the console remote steering. I want to look into the tiller to do away with some of the extra weight and "what I consider limitations" from remote steering, but I want to stay in the boat.......!lol How did you get thrown!?

We'll. Coming out of a marsh pond. I cut the exit out of the pond to close. found dry land on the front. When it did it stuck like glue. The stern swung around. And I went skipping across the mud flat on my back. My aunt was sitting outside her house drinking coffee. She seen it and described it , as a rock being skipped across the water. Lol. I bought the motor from henderson marine out of lake charles. They have a bunch of them. The boss manufacturer is like a mile from my house. So I went there and shot the shit and had coffee. Really Down to earth guys. duke. The motor handles like a dream. So you'll have no problem converting. They have a 2yr unlimited warranty. I like it. looking forward to hoping it up

I wouldn't be telling people it's a great motor after only putting 4 tanks of fuel in it.

12 gal tank. Very true 4 tanks isn't much. And time will tell. But Im pretty confident. I don't pick name brands. I go with what works. And I actually use my equipment for what it's intended for. I don't by motors for show boating. Between fishing, duck hunting, deer hunting and alligator season approaching. I'll have better reviews. My cuz has a gator tail 35. Which is a GREAT motor. But it didn't dig like the boss did. There's a lot of companies out there That I've invested in that we're just starting out. And like boss they also had tons of nah sayers. But over time when you start seeing more and more of there products. what you gonna say then.

It's good you've gotten awesome customer service so far, but what happens after the sale is what separates the wheat from the chaff. I thought Mudbuddy's service was good until I had a problem, so I hesitate to think any company is awesome when the motor is so new. That's good they have a 2 year unlimited warranty and that you live nearby. It will make any service call much easier with them being so close. I also wonder why you think the Boss H different from a Mudbuddy H. I have a MudBuddy H and I've seen pictures of the Boss, and really have to struggle to spot minor differences.

My neighbor across the bayou is a mud buddy and boss mechanic. It's a mud buddy with a boss sticker. He said boss purchased the patent from mud buddy but that nothing else has changed. I live in sulphur. He talked with the boss owners on a regular basis and said its a mud buddy product manufactured by boss It's nothing innovative it's the same motor that had problems before!

I know the Boss owners. They would not knowingly manufacture junk.

I think a lot of guys on here just hear things. I talked to the owner's them selves. From the horses mouth. So I no the hole story and understand. But you no. Haters gonna hate.

True all the outside is the same. It's what's inside that's changed.

He's not a buddy just my nieghbor across the bayou from me. He's a certified mud buddy mechanic. He also does work on boss motors. he said they really have not changed much. I am hoping they do well would be nice having a solid surface drive builder right down the road from me.

I hope it works out for you. I'm just repeating what the guy said. It's not my opinion. Iv never owned a mud buddy or Boss motor so I couldn't tell us. Hopefully they do turn out to be good motors. Would be sweet to have a good surface drive built local!

The Boss H is more than 300 lbs. I weighed my MudBuddy H (carb) at 360 lbs before I added oil. Mine has the 32" drive.

I have ten hrs on my 37 efi boss now. I can't say I'll out run a tuned up motor . But I'll get you on the hole shot, out turn you threw tight turns, blow threw mud better and faster And still get to the dock with gas left In the tank. I had one problem. Brought it to the dealer. Not long after that boss calls me. Apologies and got the dealer to correct the problem stupid fast.
