It was dark when we test ran it so I couldn't see the tach.

Is that the 2 blade that looks like the big blade?

Can you take a pic of the prop from straight behind it? Looks a little interesting...

So is there a new 37efi out with a different gear ratio than what came out with the original 37EFI's from PD?

Anything else new on this "Gen IV"? Damn! I just got one with the 2:1 drive in August and I'd kill to have 29mph.

All they did was switch to a different gear ratio. What they should have done a long time ago.

I should be able to just swap drive shaft and prop on mine with what they're using now and be good to go, correct?

Gen 4 is a good LU featuring splined prop shafts and the good Gear ratio!

Good news is, this will probably be a lot cheaper to get more top end than going the BPS Neptune tuner route. Wonder how load carrying is with it?

 Re: 2015 37EFI Prodrive Gen4 on 19x46 Aucion skiff
Will the gears actually fit in the Gen 3 housing??? Please say, yes. Having only 35 hours on my gen 3 and now an upgrade, kinda sits wrong with me. Glad they are working on improvents all the time, but I hate to be the one that jumped too early.
I put a bunch of money into E5 upgrades to get mine to carry a big load, but it still needs some speed boost for runs on fishing trips.

 Re: 2015 37EFI Prodrive Gen4 on 19x46 Aucion skiff
When I spoke to KP a while ago about this he said they were working on a kit that could be swapped out, so I assume that you can. I've got a call into them now and will let yall know what the deal is. Assume you need a new prop too, the gen III prop would be too big, imo.

 Re: 2015 37EFI Prodrive Gen4 on 19x46 Aucion skiff
Well good thing a got two new props and reworked one already...
Last time KP did me right though and swapped me out my unused 3 prop spare for a new 2 prop design. Prodrive always has great customer service and makes you want to keep doing business with them.

 Re: 2015 37EFI Prodrive Gen4 on 19x46 Aucion skiff
I've been waiting for either A) a new prop for the gen III or B) a new drive with a lower ratio for a few months, so I've held off because KP told me I'd definitely see better gains with either A or B. Plus keeping my warranty is a good thing. I'm not trying to be screaming through the swamp, just trying to not struggle to hit 25 with an almost empty boat...

 Re: 2015 37EFI Prodrive Gen4 on 19x46 Aucion skiff
Bad news, gotta switch out the whole lower assembly for gen IV. PD recommends holding out for the new gen III prop. Also heard that they are working on their own tuner. Heard some interesting things about the BPS EFI kits but I'm not going to put words in anyone's mouth. Prop please!

 Re: 2015 37EFI Prodrive Gen4 on 19x46 Aucion skiff
Well that sucks. You'd think they woulda made it where you could just change the output shaft, or at worst, the output and the input. Guess whatever they went to doesn't fit in the knuckle.

$1495 for new geared foot with trade in? What's another grand when I'm in this deep.
I already have version 2 prop, and it is really about the same as version #1. I would prop would be a fix, but not so sure after last attempt. Especially since gen4 has gone to 1.5 gears.

Didn't mention anything bout trade in. What do you mean by version 2 prop? Apparently they got another gen III prop in the works and are in the process of tweakin it.

 Re: 2015 37EFI Prodrive Gen4 on 19x46 Aucion skiff
Also, is that labor or just parts.
On gen3 it first came out with 3 blade prop. Everyone thought that was the issue. After 8 months - 12 months, they came out wih a two blade, which quickly replaced the 3 blade on new sales. I still have both. The 3 blade is supposed to be better top end speed and two blade better for mud, weeds and low end. I find them to be about equal on my boat with the two blade having a slight speed 0.5 to 1 mph advantage, but that was with my 2 blade worked with 1" more pitch and more cup.
The biggest clear cut gain was E5 kit installed by PD. Help bottom end and top speed, but only to a point where most kinda think it should be as a stock efi. My low end overloaded hole shot is definitely much improved.

Parts, it's a do it yourself job. I'm sure you could get PD to do it for you for extra.

And what is that flat bar weld onto your lower transum? FPR and trimmed down into it. At my last launching I FPR'd one of my trailer boards into peices .

It should be the same prop that came with the gen II's originally.

Only reason I say that is because he said he'd throw the prop in for free if you wanted to swap out there lower drive which is the same as the gen II, so assume prop is the same and from inventory.
