Excel 1754 f86 and 44hdr
Boat test conditions: deep water, into the wind, wind speed 10-12mph, 12 gallon gas tank full. Myself at 160 lbs my lab at 85lbs. Was able to hold 30.3 for a hundred yards before I let off with tach reading 4650 and some throttle left to go. First thoughts are the rig is very nice, handles great! I think the electic reverse is great, stronger than my other motors reverse but still playing with it to see how much stronger it is. The only down side so far is the longer drive on this motor does have some tiler torque but nothing you couldn't get used to. I currently have 2hrs on the motor and am interested to she how it runs when broke in.

Well at 4700 you'll be on the rev limiter, however that is great speed for a brand new motor on a excel. You could balance the tiller torque, by removing your skeg and bending it. I would keep the motor max 4600 running, a bigger wheel will help get the rpm down. I personally run the hammer, it's now on the HDR Retro. Get us some pics of that rig

Re: Excel 1754 f86 and 44hdr
Have nearly 6 hours on it now the last time out I bumped 31 in nearly the same conditions with my girlfriend(130) lab(80) and full tank of gas. Try to get some pics this weekend. Haven't had time to get the blind on it yet so hunting a walk in hole in the morning. I am learning the sweet spot of the longer drive a little better so the tiller torque is not as bad

I was under the impression the F86 only came in 18'. Did you get a custom build or is it the swv4 with .125/5086?

Definitely comes in 17 looked at one couple weeks ago (1751), I don't think it comes in 54" I had to order an F4 series with .125 5086 to get an 1854. F86 only comes 51 & 60" bottoms.

Re: Excel 1754 f86 and 44hdr
Beg to differ it's the 1754 with "pro grade f86 upgrade" really enjoying it so far, only have 22hrs on it so far since season ended I been working a lot more than playing and no time to take it, hope to play some more with it this weekend, just had breakin service done and am curious to see what it tops out at now that it's got a few more hours on it now
