 18X48 Uncle J custom w/ GTR 37EFI
MM Brand: Gator Tail Horsepower:37EFI (Stock)/ Old style lower unit Boat Brand: Uncle J Custom Boat Size: 18x48 21" sides 3/16" Btm Boat Layout: Open layout except for small drivers box/ Hunt Deck/ 9 gal tank
Speeds | Shallow Water: TBD Speeds | Deep Water:30-31 Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: Myself 180lbs plus normal boat safety equipment/tools (50lbs) Conditions Tested In:
Comments: First I would like to say that the boat came out great and is everything I wanted. Living in TX and having a boat built in Morgan City had me a little nervous but working with Jason was very easy and he kept me informed throughout the process. The boat came out very nice as far as finish work and appears to be built strong. The Paint job and Gator Glide were done by Cajun Camo Painting and the motor was purchased and installed through Delta Performance.
I can elaborate more on the test runs: 1.) The first time I put the boat in the water I was solo. Boat was run in deep water. Speed held constant between 29-30 and bumped 31 for a short period. RPMs 4350-4500 2.) The second run I picked up my dad and my wife and went run again. Speed was right at 29mph RPMs around 4300 3.) The third run was for a work day in the marsh. Boat Load(myself 180, Dad 220, blind building tools 75, lumber 150, small ice chest 40lbs. Deep water 26-27 mph. Shallow water 28mph steady
Overall I have been very happy with the performance numbers. I knew the boat would run well empty, as they all do, but have been very pleased with the way it has handled with a load although it was nothing extreme. The boat handles well and turns decent for a plain flat bottom. Just a little off the throttle to let it sink down and get back into it. Still have some tinkering to do with pin location and what not to see if anything changes. Give Jason a shout if you are interested in having a solid boat built to your specs. Im pretty sure you will be pleased.
