Post Gator Trax 2060 tiller
picked up a 2004 gator trax 2060 at the very beginning of duck season. It was built for and old style MudBuddy and had a 18' transom. I swapped my modded GT to it and built the transom up to 19". The transom was also a bit steeper than 20deg so 19" was the mark for. (took measurements and spoke with Duvall at GT for confirmation)

after a duck season of running it over a shallow rocky river with a beat to chit big blade, I finally got a new prop and ran it this weekend to get a baseline of empty performance.

2060 gator trax:
round chine
tiller steer
4gal of gas in the back
starting and troller battery in back of the boat (previous owner had set this way)

2008 Gator tail 35hp
45T gear
308 cam
mikuni carb
decked heads
BPS Crossover
rev limited to 4600
Ron Hill 12.25x12 2 blade prop. $220 on ebay

My worn big blade would be all over the rev limiter and top me out at 27mph. the new prop had amazing hole shot and had me at touching 31mph on chop, carrying along 29-30 all day long. If I had glass I think id touch 32mph.

The boat turns on a dime compared to a square chine boat. I don't slide at all, but almost got the tiller arm ripped from my hand when the boat wanted to turn too hard.

Being that this was my first real comparison test in my short time owning the boat, I'm extremely happy. I went from a 1754 to a 2060 for the load carrying and shallower draft with a hunt load and the boat has met every expectation.
