1850 Predator Series Stick Steer
40HP GTR
2 Blade CA57
Package 8
Additions: trolling motor package, interior red lights, swamp lights, stabilizer kit, rod box.
Weight: me 200, 15 gallons of gas, 2 batteries
Speeds: floats between 30 MPH and 31MPH at 4000 RPM’s deep water. When I cut the skeg, I will gain more. I can also gain more by adjusting trim a bit. I haven’t spent much time looking for the comfort zone.
What’s Nice: Comfort level. It feels great sitting on a comfortable seat up high cruising.
Control bracket is easy to use with out looking.
Savage bottom = increase turning ability with out the loss of speed or performance
Easy to steer in thick vegetation and mud
No tiller torque on light wind days.
24 inch sides are great when running thick vegetation and/or choppy conditions
Same exact turning ability as a tiller Steer
Overall: it’s not going to be for everyone but for what I do, it’s exactly what I want. Extreme comfort for long drives, up high helps with frogging and scouting and same turning ability as a tiller. I ran her up on Lillie’s and in the mud just to see the difficulty of working myself out of a jam. On both occasions I worked my way out with little resistance.

Today we took the rig deep into the marsh and tested it in solid mud, grass and tight conditions. The stick steer handled it very well.
