Ok I think I may be going at this the wrong way....there have been some replies to me about the weekend chosen. So here is how it is gonna go. First Annual SETX Mud Run March 20-21 Lodging available at La Quinta in Bridge City, Tx $99 a night We will meet up on Saturday March 20 at 10:00 am at Port Neches Park. Saturday night I will host a Bar B Que and party at my house for all that attend. It will be a BYOB event. This will be just kind of thrown together but we will improve on next years event with more time to plan. If you need any further information PM me and I will get back with you. |

I figure that most people coming to this event will be within a 4 hour drive so it may be easier to drive in Sat. morning and only have to pay for one night in the hotel. But if you are gonna come in on Friday get with me so that we can all get together on Fri. evening. |

I am gonna work on something for you guys. If yall get a chance call the hotel out at Hwy 62 and IH-10. I am gonna check on getting access to a private ramp on the back side of bessie heights. We use to hunt out there so maybe I can get access for the weekend to launch boats without having to be a Port Neches Park. Prolly gonna ruffle some feathers with a few folks come that time of the year. (fisherman) |

dont mean to step on toes damon.but if the fisherman get mad because we r out enjoying our boats,that is a PUBLIC boat ramp..which means anyone one is welcome..but it would be nice to use a private boat ramp |

We are going to have to make sure we try not to piss anyone off and not tear anything up. This could mess up a good thing for us if we dont watch out. Another option would be to make the ride out to Texas Point...as long as the tide is out there is always mud there whethere there is a North wind or not. |

yeah but its kinda hard to get everyone out tehre without gettin lost unless we meet up somewhere and just caravan..and since there isnt really anything food or gas wise in sabine it would be iffy |

TX Point is a bad idea for this many boats. We could get away with it if it's just 3 or 4 of us, but no way I'd go out there with this many. GW would be waitin for us at the ramp for sure. Remember, TX Pt is part of the refuge. |

The area just north of Bessie heights is private land. We would be o.k. riding out there. Has some pretty good mud in that area. The only time those folks are out there is during duck season. If you go into the second ditch off of the rivver just north of PN Park it is the land directly to the left once you get out on the flat all the way up to the tree line. There is alot of mud flats in there. Some of it is nasty and some is so, so. If I can get access to the private ramp I mentioned we will be launching right next to it!!! |

come up with a poss. date and I will talk to La Quinta in BC to check on avail. and rate. if we can getby some of these rains with some north wind ther will be no water in the marsh.or just no rain would help, the next month anhalf should be great but bessie heights marsh is fun anytime |
