k so my motor has been running great ever since i got it. yesterday i took it out to go do some scouting and ended up trying to go thru some lillies that were extremely thick. i worked the motor pretty hard and had to turn around and go back thru my cut. i got out and started going again another route and my motor started running like shi*. couldnt touch the gas cause it would kill. i had to putz back to the launch. is this just garbage in the carb? havent had time to clean it yet and the gas was only a week old and i have a fuel filter. any ideas would help greatly thanks

Kind of motor motor Briggs Koehler Honda etc would help but yes I would clean the carb real good as a start
Also you ain't Suckin air on fuel lines???

is the motor modded at all? This same scenario just happened to a buddy of mine, took the Valve cover off his port starbard side and he had a push rod out of place. Were you over reving it alot?

A bad push rod or anything valve train related more than likely wouldn't kill the motor when he have it gas.

Sounds like a fuel problem.
Him bogging the motor down and extra strain may have caused a peice of trash that was in the fuel line or carb bowl to break away and get into one of jets or needle and seat.
Clean da carb!

ok well in that case also check for vaccum leaks on intake

its an older briggs. i dont have a tach on it so im not sure on what the rpms are. but gonna try and clean the carbs and go thru my fuel lines and all other lines to make sure im not sucking in any air anywhere. thanks for the help fellas. need to get this done got less than 2 weeks till teal season and i need to get my sanity back
