Be sure of what you are getting, many people refer to these as being "go-devils" as a generic term, even if its a POS homemade. If you don't know the ins and outs of longtails, I wouldn't suggest going for a homemade (some people do some weird crap trying to build these...) Go through the site and try to pick out some key questions to ask like make, model, standard lengths in regards to shaft and your boat situation. (More people might chime in with suggestions to ask) One thing I would stress on a used rig is to get the hp you need then go up a size if possible, also know what size of prop correlates with the rig you are looking at, ask the seller about the age/condition of the prop and check it out, measure if possible. -This could easily be a $150< mistake. Of course ask to see the thing run or test it out if possible ect. Treat it like you would a car, use the search on here, ask questions, and check out the classified section on here. Good Luck!

^^^^^ I concur. Buy a name brand from a company you can call to get replacement parts if needed.

Go-Devil(you can call them with the serial numbers to verify the age, ownership and if any paperwork issues(stolen))
