 Lowe 1440M or Alumacraft 1542???
I just bought a used 16hp vanguard go-devil and now I need a boat. I would like a welded 14ft flat bottom but can't find any for a decent price. So the question is do I go with the riveted Lowe 1440m or Alumacraft 1542?
It'll be used to either hunt 2 people and a dog or transport 3 people and a dog plus gear, though gear is a minimal amount. I already plan on getting pods installed as well by a local fab shop. I won't be doing much open water traveling, especially if the weather is bad. It'll be primarily for backwaters on lakes here in Texas.
I just don't know if the extra 1ft length and 2in width would be better than the mod v on the smaller boat. The rest of the specs are fairly the same.
Any input is appreciated.

Alright thanks for the help! Any particular reason you say that? I'm new to the whole mud motor scene so I'm just curious.

Go with the 1542. You will appreciate the extra foot and 2 inches of width. If its a flat front and your wanting a V then have your fab shop weld a duck bill to the front. You will never have a boat with too much room so bigger is always better.

Also if your looking at those boats brand new check out w eldbilt boats. They are all welded and I believe the prices are better. Backwoodslanding.com has the best prices

Ok thanks for the help! Will the extra foot cause much of a difference speed/performance wise? I know a good prop is the biggest factor but I'm curios about the boats effects.
Thanks

If anything you will be faster with the extra foot of length the boat will ballast less water.
