Post Re: Recupping a prop
I notice that everytime I go out in skinny water (mainly sand/mud) my prop burns like there's no tom. Everytime the tide is really low I'll lose about .5mph every outting. I just got my prop back from the shop this past friday and scouted out a new area I hadn't been to on Sat. Well it was really shallow and I think I must of hit oyster beds or something, because the prop was already chipped from the outer edge. Yes you can send your prop to a prop rebuilder like Mikehoods marine prop service in Houstan, Tx. Google Mike Hoods. He did a great job on mine.

Bauman propeller is also in Houston. Been using them for years and have never had a complaint. 713 926 6908

Yes you can!!, if you only lost about 1/2 in or less, just get it red hot on the cup and put it over a trailer ball and beat the cup back in carefully and evenly. It's not that hard and you don't gotta be exact. If you ain't got access to the tools, send it to Iberia prop 337 229-0213 and he will re-cup for only 30 bucks.
