I'm giving my new girlfriend an upgrade..
I've ordered a Hopkins exhaust and a K&N air filter for my 27 Kawi LT.
Anyone use either of these? Did you see any performance gains?
I'm not expecting much, just want to help her breath while she's working hard...
Currently running 4160 WOT and 3170 under a full hunting load. I'll post up some numbers after I get her dialed in.

I can tell you from experience that the Hopkins is a lot more restrictive than the other aftermarket exhaust. The quality is sub-par when compared to the others as well. You'd come out a lot cheaper & better by gutting your factory exhaust!

4160 WOT out of the water right?

3170 in the water is low. I was running close to that with a 31 vanguard LT unloaded, 3300 or so and after putting on a BPS muffler and a k&n filter, it came back to 3600. With a load I may still be running low rpms.

You may also have a prop that is too big for your application. When I changed props last, my new one had alot of cup and my rpms have been low ever since.

bbb...the prop that came with the motor was the original MB prop. It had little or no cup left and I turned 3650 in deep water with no load.
I purchased a BBlades 9x7 prop, has a lot of cup and a coating of some sort on the blades. I run 14.2 fully loaded. (2 guys 2 dogs, 4 dz dekes and all the other crap) not fast by any means, but avg for a LT. BUT....put me in skinny water and that prop pushes the load!!! Friggin unbelievable where my boat will now go. (PolarKraft 16x50 flat bottom jon)
I'm curious to see how the numbers will change as the prop gets some wear on it...

Here's a couple of shots of my rig. I added a set of medium pods and a riser for the motor...it made a big difference in how the boat jumps to plane.

Seems 200 rpms are good for about 1mph.

Get that thing to 3600rpms and you should be running 16.5 loaded and 19 unloaded.

I have a 18x56 with a 31GD LT and loaded with 2 people, extra battery, generator and 94qt cooler full of ice, I was running 17.8, pushing 3450rpms.
