Hey guys,

I picked up a used Predator Chassis mostly complete from a member on here. Funny how things work out, he was located less than 5 miles from me. I'm in the process of sourcing parts to start my build and details will follow. This will be going on my 1856 Go-Devil boat.

One question I have right now is if anyone knows who made the props for these and what size they were? This unit did not come with the prop. It is a 3/4" threaded shaft. Also looking for info on what cooling fan they were using with the oil cooler. I know I can just measure it out and find one, but a lead on the model they were using would simplify things using the existing mounts on the frame.

Call Arlon at Backwater. He built the original.

For now I'm not changing anything in regards to the frame setup besides what is necessary to get the engine mounted, exhaust etc. Initial goal is to get it up and running, figure out how to keep it cool, dial in the calibration. We are building a low compression 95" twin cam engine with cases that have EVO motor mounts. All S&S of course.

Love that vroom, vroom, heard it one morning some years ago here in the Glades, the owner had it a couple of seasons but said it was a bear to drive...I'd love to! Please post the finished product, you are lucky to have that LT history!

Backwater: no response

Sent a text to the guy trying to sell his on here: No Response lol
I'm going to start calling places this week. I just hate to take up peoples time during their busy season for general questions they may know nothing about

Be-cool or Derale for the fan and 10x8 for the prop.

You could also try to find Mark Fisher the orginal owner of Beavertail. If you get a hold of one of the prop manufacturers, make sure they know you are looking for a 10X8 sub-surface prop, not surface piercing. I don't think you would benifit with the surface piercing prop with that frame and engine configuration.

Received an email back from Jake @ Backwater yesterday then spoke with him for about 15 min on the phone. He's got a unit there he's going to take a look at and get me some information off of. First time I've spoken to anyone from Backwater and I'm grateful he was willing to take time out of his day to help me out even though he knew he wouldn't be selling any product to me. Good guys up there!

I'd sell this chassis with all the components I have for it if there is any interest. We are just way too busy at work and I have zero time to devote to this thing. $1k
