 Re: upper bushing temps
I built a long tail and the upper bushing got hot as hell and I run it like I stole it and never had a problem out of it!
Your motor may be out of align or something.

 Re: upper bushing temps
Ok thank you for the reply, go devil said it runs warm I checked it with a inferred temp gun & got 180 degree out of it granted thats on a stand & not in the water slowing the rpm down a little.

Let one of the veterans chime in because I don't know much about longtails.

 Re: upper bushing temps
The only thing you can do to cool em down is to add more grease!!! I wouldn't think 180 is too hot. Roller bearing get that hot. That's the equivalent to the warm setting on your oven. Which if you've cooked before, ain't hot enough to cook

 Re: upper bushing temps
Don't worry about it even if it flames up. Flames make things go faster.

 Re: upper bushing temps
Hell, during teal season everything is 180 degrees. My ballast up front is a full cooler.

 Re: upper bushing temps
Hot to the touch but cool enough to not melt the seal is ok.
