I am building my 1st mud motor to throw on a little 1236 john that I use in a private swamp. I bought the 6.5hp Predator and the MudMotorKit.com kit. I realize a lot of the guys will recommend a higher quality kit, but I didn't want the cheapest kit or the most expensive one. this is a motor that is for limited use, don't need to drop $1500 to get around.

My question is, what stage 1 upgrade kit would you recommend to get a little more HP out of the motor?

Did this back in January for my 1236jon, but i went ahead and went all out. NRracing has a great kit. a robertsons torque tube boat loop is a must with an rvl muffler. If you really want to go wild i polished the head, 18# springs, nrracing marine cam, thin head gasket to up compression, and removed oil sensor and governor. the all this really made a huge difference.

so did you toss the stage 1, 2, or 3 kit on there? you have yours dialed in VERY nicely
