Opinions on longtail and bowfishing deck.
I just got a hella deal one a 1548 hull with an 04 25hp yamaha. Guy used it for bowfishing. Comes with a custom aluminum bowfishing deck, hps lights, trolling motor, and rigid light bar. I really just needed the hull but all the goodies and motor were too good to pass up. I have no desire to bowfish, but I do like the idea of the deck to sight fish redfish. I know it's not a true mud hull but I've had my 25hp go devil longtail on many different boats and it's done what I want on all of them. My question is will the deck cause the boat to be too top heavy for the longtail? I've been in a boat that flipped with a longtail due to a permanent rail blind causing it to be too top heavy. My plans for the boat are to remove the middle bench, add gatorglide, split the back bench, and maybe add pods to help offset some of the weight of the longtail. I'd really like to have a SD rig but seeing as how now you can't run them in the biloxi marsh it would be pointless. Anybody run a similar set up and have any input?

Why not leave the outboard on for fishing, when you remove the deck swap the lt on for hunting. I don't see that plaining with two guys

Re: Opinions on longtail and bowfishing deck.
I've already got a 1542 war eagle with a 25 merc and some of the places I fish are extremely shallow depending on tides or are covered in lillies/vegitation. I have no need for the outboard on this boat.
