I was just wondering what brand of Battery does everyone run on their Rigs? I am in the market for a new one ,because My battery of 2 years split open on the side. Had a WAL MART MARINE and was not really happy that it only lasted 2 seasons. Thanks

Search feature. There have been a couple good battery threads. They're worth looking for if you want good info

Whatever you get, get a battery tender! Some LT mfg.'s state you can get by with a tractor battery; this might suffice but depends on your needs (bilge, running lights, accessories). I have placed my battery up front because of space limitations in back and to better distribute weight. I have to use a heavier gauge set of cables for this operate the motor. I have never had a battery last more than three years of usage for the most part; the heat/humidity down here wreak havoc and so I plan on replacing them accordingly. I would recommend that you get more CCA's than the motor is rated to need for starting. While not in use, keep a trickle charger on it; try to store away from excessive heat/cold. The last thing is to have a jump box or second battery for the inevitable dead battery situation (cell phone to call good Samaritan and jumper cables on hand).

I run a Walmart marine battery but have a lawn tractor 425cca battery in the dry box. Probably never need it but if I break down noone will be passing by to help.
