Good stuff! I know it has been said before, but definitely remove your prop, regardless of type of LT, a couple of times a season, and apply anti-seize grease! This is specially relevant if you hunt salt or brackish water.

Very good video. I think I'm going to invest in one of those backwater stainless split nuts they mentioned. I think I would like to start checking the lower bearings and seals on a yearly basis as a matter of preventive maintenance. I may even replace the seals once a year as a matter of maintenance also. |

Certainly not trying to be a dick but............i've removed a bunch of threaded props from both longtails and surface drives and i've yet to see one come off that easy. 1 hit from a dead blow and it spun right off? I also realize its a brand new motor. Shit, I had to build a tool from 3/4" x 1 1/2 solid bar stock with 2 5/8 dia. hardened pins to contact the radius of the prop hub and it has a 4' long handle on it. I've had some that were even a bitch with the tool. I've had to heat up a customers prop so hot to remove it that he ended up having to have me replace the bearings and seals. Granted, he NEVER added anti seize and the prop had been on it for 5 years. I NEVER install a threaded prop without slathering the anti seize on the shaft. (liberally) It def. helps when you've got to remove it. This video was good, but not realistic imo. Plus on the older go devils there is no jam nut on the back of the prop shaft. |

I remove my prop and clean threads after every outing.... When I install my prop I spin it all the way on till it bottoms out... Back it off 1/4 turn, then tighten jam nut up to it (nylok nut).... Never had an issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Since I ordered my prop I removed the prop today, piece of cake, of course it is brand new and only 3x in the water, I made sure to clean the threads and smear anti seize grease on them. Still, I followed the video method and will continue to do that, didn't have to use a rubber mallet. |
