My 23 is running 3310ish with just me on my 1638 gd boat. It has 11 hours on it. Ive read I should be in the 3600 range empty. Do I need to adjust governor some. Out of water is 39and some change

btw all floatation has been cut out so boat isn't waterlogged and no hooks in the bottom

I'd want to be in the 3800 range with a load, you can run it up around 4K light and 42-4300ish on the governor. You probably need tuning and maybe a prop change to get you there.

I put one of PVT rev kits in my 23 gdlt and set oow rpms at 44-4500, I also ran a BBlades 9x7 prop with decent results.

I need to call B&S with my engine info, 18hp Vanguard, and find out what RPM's the motor is supposed to turn. Installed new shaft , seals, prop last year but haven't had the opportunity to run it on a boat, but that is going to happen shortly. Tach shows 3700 Rpm's with no load, and reading here that looks like it might need to be tweaked a little. Looking for opinions from folks, thanks. FYI, I installed the GoDevil factory prop, I believe 9x4.
