Post DIY build vs kit
I have a Honda gx200 6.5 motor. I just received the mad mud motor plans in the mail today. After reviewing the plans it's gonna cost approx. 400 bucks in parts.

The kits they sell online are 295-395.

Will a DIY kit be much better than the kits? (I'm not running mud just shallow weedy water) tired of digging weeds out of my prop on the outboard.

Big killer on the kit is buying a stainless threaded prop. The kits use a tapered prop. Are there any alternatives to a cheaper prop? I'd rather bust 8 aluminum props for the price of one stainless. Just hard to buy a prop that cost more than the motor

Thanks for any insight

Colton

I hve made a couple motors loosely based of mad plans.. I found the tube to slightly overkill and the beAring setup a little suspect the last one I built I bought bearing housings from backwater inc this definitely jacks the price up but they seemed to work flawlessly and keep the water out!
