I have a 1644 Go Devil boat with a 23 longtail on it. I recently purchased a high transom GatorTail. My plans are to swap back and forth between the two motors because of refuge restrictions and the GatorTail being to big. Anyway my boat is a 16 inch short transom and I will build it up to 20 inches for the GatorTail. My question is: Anyone have any experience running the longtail on a 20 inch transom? |

CoCo at go devil said that I can cut off my cavitation plate and for 65 bucks they will sell me one to have welded on that is at a different angle. He said I may lose a mile or two in performance. Have anyone done this? How did it work? |

Then you run the risk of maybe having it welded at the wrong angle, then be in the same boat. Not worth it IMO, but hey, whatever works for you |

1648 sea ark 20" transom running a mud buddy longtail and its not fun. Cutting transom down this winter |
