My 23 Briggs is tired of sitting on the GDLT frame I need to replace it and I can’t find the search feature on Tapatalk.
Can anyone tell me what I would have to do to swap it to a 22 hp predator motor? Does is direct bolt or would I have to fab something? Which I am incapable of unless I could stack some washers under the mounts to get it to the right height.

Use Google and mmt in your searches.

Flint, I thought of doing this. Because I couldn’t figure out my issue with my 23.
From what I found, it is close to a direct bolt up.
It’s just like a Honda, and I think the Honda and Briggs have the same PTO height. Wi will be researching this tomorrow.

Just did this on a buddy's 16hp van vtwin to 22 predator. The two bolts that go to the back of the motor will be lower on the predator so we slotted the hole in the frame down less than half an inch and of the 4 base bolts, I believe we had to relocate the 2 front holes.

As long as your u-joint fits the predator or you can buy a new one$$. Measure the motor shaft diameter on the briggs and make sure the predator motor you buy has the same size. Also scratch what I said about new bottom holes before. The original bottom plate mounts worked, but the predator we used had a longer shaft than the briggs and the go-devil shaft will be pushed in lower than before. So there was a couple extra inches at the bottom end between the prop jam nut and the lower seal housing. We left it like that and it runs fine.

Once your all set with location of shafts and everything is balanced/centered, drill holes for your u-joint set screws on both ends. The predator shaft is super hardened and will be very very hard to drill into so we marked it, pulled the motor again and ground a slot with a grinder for the set screws to sit then lock-tighten everything. And if your putting new brass bushings, don't forget the ream them out with 3/4 bit because we thought it was free enough and didn't need it but it did and we blew a shaft in half. :o

Also to anyone who may know... is it possible to put a rope start on the 22 predator?
