So guys got a question. If I’m running my 23 swomp in deep water I leave the prop all the way down in the water to plane out. If I go in shallow water it seems to drag and catch on vegetation. Should I manually trim it up or just run holding the prop up ? Just curious. I know longtails are tougher to use than surface drives. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

With the full frame BW models, you have a bump stop to set the max depth in the water...this is variable but on the BW site instructional video on shimming, something like 8-12 inches. I know I bottom out with my swomp in shallow water before a surface drive does and this tells me to stop... this is a good thing because it minimizes damage to prop...with a surface drive you get in farther but you will be badly stuck and the sand/marl here will shred the prop quickly. You many times have to manually push down on the tiller to get over/through areas as well as lift and replace prop to find water sometimes. My BW is easier to drive than my previous GD and MB longtails...that said, it is no fun with side current and waves in deep water. There is always a trade-off. |

Does your cavitation plate not ride right at the surface of the water? |

Yes in deeper water it runs awesome as last g as I have it trimmed all the way down . It will come up to the surface and run good . Just in shallow water it’s to deep so I have to hold it up just under the water . It’s a beast to drive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
