Post Predator Harley Motor Hull Advise
All you mud experts, I need advise. Just got a used Predator Harley longtail and need advise on building a hull. Looking at 18 foot length plus. use for gator and general hunting. Mostly run heavy vegetation, not much mud. What kind width should I build? sheets come 48",60", 72" wide and could be cut down from there. I've seen an ad for the motor stating 25-34 mph different loads but the ad didn't state hull sizes. Any direction from guys that have this motor or insight from mud experts is appreciated. Thanks

Man, I wish I could run that beast! 1844/1944/2044 would be cool, 48 bottom would perhaps be more stable for gator hunting. I have a 1648 tracker grizzly which is a real compromise with my 26.5 efi BW but my dream hull would be a true flat 1848 in .100...down here don't really need the 1/4" but if you have any stumps and such, the .125 bottom would be imperative.

I'd go 1854 minimum. If you insist on a 48, go longer. I'm running a 1748 with a stage 3 Briggs longtail and it's a lot of engine for that size boat. A 19 or 2054 would be ideal in my opinion.

20x44 if u run marsh ditches, 20x48 if u run woods. 24x60 would be the way to go if width isn't an issue. it would handle weight and still plane out.

start working your shoulders out now, that big longtail is gonna be a bear to drive.
