Uncle was able to come back up this year for the long hunt! My oldest was able to get his act together enough over the summer to earn a NEF single shot 410, and to be able to come along on the hunt. He got several shots and ducks and some grouse, but was unable to put any in the pot this time. Though we didn't find any caribou this time, we did get some good meat for the freezer. Great video, Temple, Your boy is really getting big. I haven't gone after moose and caribou in a couple of years because i've met my "USE BY" date. Those big animals are just a little more than I want to handle any more. Speaking of work, haven't we had the talk about never shooting a moose in the water? You do get credit for having a come-a-long with. |

Hi Stu! That one was actually at the edge of the water! When I let him have it he slid into it it a smidge. Dang kids won't stop growing, they just eat more and more. Soon I may have to take two moose! I love that rope along! 2 years ago I did drop a moose in the river for real...what a "moose" rope that was. Coincidentally, that was also the first year I brought the ropealong...never going without it, but I added another 100 foot of rope after that as a good anchor was almost out of reach. I tried to listen Stu, but with a house full of growing youngins I couldn't let'em walk up the bank! They just eat more and more every day. |
