 BIG bag of grass!
Anybody have any good pointers to re-doing the boat blind with Raffia? Got 26 lbs in about 8 colors to fix up the Barge. I'm planing on using the poly fencing as backing and zip ties to attach it. Are there any particular methods to help it look better or is the "ghillie boat" look just the way it's gonna be?

I've heard of mixing rafia and say fast grass or natural veggies, however I've never seen it.

 Re: BIG bag of grass!
I did one like that but i used that military die cut leafy shit that had the webbing attached for the backing. I spray painted it some because i thought it was too dark. And i also used some fluffy wild shit my neighbor has growing in her yard. It cameout bad ass! It takes time. Tie some long ways, tie some in the middle, tie some short...do it all different. Walk away when u had enough and go back at it later. Get some help. Get some scissors...different sizes and different ways. Wish i had a pic of mine!

 Re: BIG bag of grass!
I had mostly raffia on mine last year with some natural stuff mixed in willows when I hunted in the woods and grass when in the marsh.
This year I used 2 bundles of fast grass and 12 lbs of raffia and a bunch of El naturale grass off my lease

 Re: BIG bag of grass!
Got her covered. Pics are of the first side pretty much done. I was really surprised at how strong the raffia fibers are which is good because that's some tedious work! 3/4 of the way through this side I realized that when the bunches are tied vertically that it provides better coverage and gives it some depth too. How long has the raffia been holding up for those of ya using it?
