Post Gate opener help
I have a friend who bought a used gate opener to replace an old stanley model 540 opener. The one he just bought is a Manaras opener that was working at a place that closed down. The only number of any kind on it is 900-003. It was on a exit gate that was controlled by a ground loop to open when you drive up to exit. I am trying to help him hook it up but I can't find a wiring diagram or any info on it on the web anywhere, the company still makes garage openers but I can't find any info on a gate opener. It will work if I manually press the contacts for the motor but I can't get it to work with his push buttons. I also need to know how to add a remote. Can anyone tell me where I can find any info on this? Maybe autogateman can help me.

I have tried to hook up the push button switch to it but I can't get it to work. I connected to the terminals labeled stop, close, open, and the last one to the yellow wire across from the c. I may have to change some of the settings on the dip switches but I'm not sure.

Do you want to be able to open and close with the receiver or just open and have the timer close it? If you want both open and close, you will have to turn off the timer and hook the relays from the receiver to 'c' and 'single button'

Most commercial gate operators cannot be manually closed with a remote if the auto close timer is turned on, and the open close stop inputs require constant input

Also make sure there is a jumper between c and stop, that is a 'normally closed' input

I want to be able to open and close with a remote and be able to use the buttons inside the building. The old one had buttons inside the building with open, close, and stop. There was a jumper between stop and the next wire to it between the stop and the close, the other wires weren't hooked up. I was just guessing when I hooked the up.

I removed the jumper when I hooked up the other wires. I saw in one of the companys other wiring diagrams that it was not needed if you had a stop switch, but as you can tell I don't know what I am doing. I will hook it back up tomorrow.

Ok. Open and close on the three button station are normally open, so one connection on the switches go to common, then the other goes to open or close. Stop switch needs to be closed when not being pushed. Turn dip switch 5 to off, then wire receiver to common and single button and you should be good to go. Do not turn on switch 5 without entrapment beam or edge guard. That operator could literally squish you in two

Good to see that you're still around auto.

I would go with a Liftmaster 312HM receiver with 371LM remotes.

Ok the gate has been working great until today. The cover had some rubber flaps on it and one decided to rip off and get hung in the sprocket and chain which caused it to stall out. The rubber has been cleared and now when its turned back on it wants to automatically open. You can press stop and it will stop but if you press close it will quickly light up the led for close and then that light will go out and it will stay open. The led is always on now that says open. If you press stop the stop led will light and gate will stop but the open led is still on. I can manually press the contacts and move the gate to close it but if I press open or close it will automatically try to open unless I press stop and then it will stay still. I have unhooked the wires from the board to make sure the switch wasn't causing it and also unhooked the remote. The safe loop led is always on also and I can't remember if it was like that before or not. I unhooked those wires also and it didn't change. Could something on the control board have went bad when it stalled out? It was stalled for several minutes before we could get in and turn the power off to find out why it wouldn't open.
