 Walkers Bay New Zealand quake?

Hi ya. Yeah me and mine are all fine. I was in night shift at the smelter when it hit and I never felt it at all but my Facebook feed filled up quick. The tsunami warnings were a bit of a concern but we just carried on working cos it wasn't going to do itself if we left. The majority of the damage is in the northern end of the South Island. My wife had family right near the epicenter and they had some stuff fall down but I think their neighbors house is a right off. Photos of the damage coming thought the media are unreal.
The strangest thing about it was that a guy up country who studies the weather and earth cycles based on the moon cycles predicted this 5 years ago. He predicted with the 11 year Mon cycle that there would be a over 5 magnitude in the upper South Island in 2016.
