Re: How to display you're a bad ass: Today is Election Day for mayor in Mobile, AL. A very prominent (white) businessman decided to run this year against the black guy that's been mayor for the last eight years.
Whites are now outnumbered in Mobile by minorities, so it's been easy for Sam Jones to get reelected even though he hasn't done shit for the city. One of his biggest strategies is to provide transportation for voters in impoverished (black) neighborhoods to get them to the polls. A good friend of mine's uncle decided to do something about this. This is what his driveway looks like today... He called two weeks ago and reserved every passenger van for rent in the city! |

Combine that with our governor, who was a successful private practice doctor and pledged not to take a salary until Alabama's unemployment rate is 0%, and we may be going against the grain in the general trend of politics in this messed up country!
