Fat chance. Even with the playoff system, there is still the human element appointing which teams will be in the playoffs....the "Playoff Selection Committee." If anything, the voters have always been biased AGAINST the SEC. Why do you think they are changing it to a playoff? Because the voters could never overcome the computers. The computers weren't biased. The computers always ranked SEC teams high. So much so, that they had to take the strength of schedule out of the equation because the AD's from other conferences were crying that their barber shop college schedules were no match for the SEC schedules....and they "couldn't help that their schedules were not hard."

The SEC will still dominate the national title even in a playoff system. I foresee the selection committee pairing the SEC with the toughest looking competitor in hopes of them getting knocked off. But, it won't happen unless the team shoots themselves in the foot....like Auburn did last night. Obviously, the toughest competition FSU faced all season. And clearly a case of not the more dominant team on the field winning as it was the more dominant team losing. FSU picked up some of that last minute magic Auburn has had.

How did auburn shoot themselves in the foot ??? I would like to know

In this order:

Auburn missed field goal.
Allowed FSU to convert a fourth & 4 fake punt which ultimately led to 7 points.
Blown kick return coverage...one man pulls a hamstring, guy in one lane over gets WAY out of his lane...allows for 100 yard return for TD.
Final drive of the game with 79 ticks on the clock, what should have been a short yardage pass and tackle turns into 49 yard gain for FSU. Third & 8 pass interference (was it in the end zone?) call which the receiver wouldn't have caught anyway puts the ball on the 2 or 3 yard line. Those two plays lead to game winning drive. Not saying they couldn't have done it without those two plays...because obviously 79 seconds is plenty of time for FSU to score. But, put all that together, Auburn lost the game.

I'm sure Auburn fired a few more bullets into their feet....those were some of the more memorable ones to me.

If you think FSU was the better team on the field, you were watching with beer goggles. Take a look at the box scores/stats. Auburn led every category except the one that counts....the final score. FSU had only 20 yards more passing than Auburn...give credit to the missed tackle that went for 49 yards.

Like I said earlier, it was a great game, the best competition FSU saw all year, lady luck shined on FSU and the better team on the field of play lost the game.

I am sure it was never thought of by the Auburn running back, but if he would have run to the 2 yard line and took a knee instead of scoring that TD right then....it would have forced FSU to use their timeouts.....He had already ran for almost 200 yards. Scoring a TD was gonna happen. Why give the ball back to FSU with anymore time than you had too? especially the way they played the second half of that game.

Well you had 3 blown calls that would of gave fsu a first down , we had a fumble which led to a touch down so mark out the interception ... The blown coverage on the kick off is football dude !!! We had one on defense that ended up being a touchdown if that would of caused us to lose I wouldn't be whining about it ... The first half we looked like shit !!! Auburn had great field position every time . At the end of the day fsu was the better team obviously or the trophy would be in Alabama . Y'all are so fn bent out of shape that someone else won , you are looking at one side of the game not the other ... Watch a rerun then report back , both had turn overs and blown coverages ... And to think I pull for the sec when we aren't playing them

Just researched the stats auburn had 60 more total yards and had 7 more minutes time of possession . So in that perspective yes they should of won

Really?? Look at the box score. That will tell you who played better football.

Look at statistics...not biased opinion. 99% of the time, when a team wins three of these five categories, that team was the better team on the field and won the game.

Time of possession
Total yards
First downs
Third down conversion efficiency
Turnover margin

Look at box scores of any game you want. The majority of the time, the winning team will have won a minimum of three of those categories.

FSU just got lucky. Luck is part of the game, but not a statistic that makes that team better than their opponent.

In case you think everybody else is being sore losers...which I'm not...I'm just stating obvious facts...here is the proof.

So we got lucky ?? That's your opinion I'm gonna watch the game again the second half that is and see what was so lucky about it ... If we would of got those calls I would bet the yards would of been about even ... What's your opinion on the bad calls ?

But another good example of luck prevailing...A&M over Duke. Duke had 3 of the 5 stats won...but lost. Just saying. Not trying to be biased. Duke should have won their game.

I do my research also lol , I'm not one to talk out of my arse ... Either way it was a good football game If auburn would of won I wouldn't be butt hurt . I'm gonna be honest Johnny is a freak of nature i wish he would play another year because i like watching him ... He is the best college qb of all time IMO

Yeah...those Big 10, 11, 12 officials couldn't keep up with the SEC-ACC pace of play!

That conference hasn't even been able to count past 10 to know they had 11 teams and now 12!!

They blew several calls on both sides. Some you could see were just not in their line of site...like the horse collar or like the helmet removal after the play. That's just another part of the game we have to live with and just can't fix.

i hate todays style of football but that was a good game either team could have won. fsu did not do what they needed to do to win all the stats. fsu did what they had to do to win the game plain and simple. in the end thats all that matters. the national championship could not have gone to a better coach
