Post Re: EFI Band wagon
The band wagon is not for just the EFI operators, it is for everyone as a collective, sharing new ideas and technology that is meant to not only satisfy our curiosity but slake our thirst for knowledge and progress.

You may publicly ridicule and denounce the band wagon but there is no denying its existence. Existing in a humorless vacuum is no existence at all, take the step and board the band wagon where all are greeted as friends and the comradery of a common thread is shared, getting the most out of your favorite MM.

Welcome aboard

the band wagon has taken some time to reflect on how special the journey has been to this point and to greet new members as they board the band wagon. the band wagon is not for everyone, it is those that seek optimal performance, reliability and efficiency from there favorite MM.

free advice as requested by the always entertaining 270Handiclod:

1. open a cold beverage of your choice.

2. turn off all electrical accessories in your rig.

3. disconnect your battery.

4. enjoy 1/2 of your beverage.

5. reconnect battery and enjoy.

6. if problems persist, seek professional help or shift/remove some of the herculean load from rig.

even thou the ECU is pre set and should continually self monitor and clear , sometimes a hard boot helps reset it.

Im in.... I am an EFI believer!

Once I get my 27PD sold its 37EFi time!

I posted this in another thread, but Ill post it here as well:
I spoke with B&S yesterday about the Vanguard Power Code EFI software. They said in approx 2 months the software and connecting cable will be available to the public as a service part. We may be able to breath a little more life into the 37 with remapping the ECU and a muffler....crossing my fingers.

The band wagon welcomes all who seek enlightenment and aspire to be freed of the bonds of carburation. To boldly enjoy their chosen MM to the fullest in any and the worst of conditions. By taking this bold step and boarding the band wagon, you are not only embracing the technological advancement that is EFI but you are joining a brotherhood where you are greeted as a friend.

The band wagon doesn’t look down at the carburetor or those that choose this path – it acknowledges and salutes the carburetor for it’s over a century of faithful service to humanity – unlike non-believers who publicly ridicule and fear EFI. However objects in your mirror are closer than they appear, EFI is rapidly closing this gap.

It’s not too late for anyone to board the band wagon, it’s such a small step to take that has such great rewards. Your step towards the illumination that is EFI will be a bold one and one that won’t be taken in repentance, it will be taken with contentment and wonder.

Welcome aboard!

The band wagon must really ask “do I really need to operate my rig at 30+ mph at 0 dark thirty” well speed buggy think about it if you can, do you operate at top speed in most of the conditions encountered in let’s say a typical duck hunt?

The ability to operate at such speeds is really impressive to some, to others it is an impotent gesture and not reflective of everyone’s experience. Yes it is truly nice to say my boat is faster than yours, but what really counts is getting you to your spot and back – without being encumbered with toting extra fuel or worrying if your carburetor has been tuned correctly and is not pouring fuel out bowl vent.

The future is here, EFI is the way forward in our chosen endeavor, MM operations.

Welcome aboard!

The band wagon attracts and welcomes all, not only those that have chosen to step into the light of progress. Each MM operator has to make his own journey. The journey one choses is his and his alone. The band wagon is here to not only provide some insight but help free the common man from the grips of the secular faction of those who have mastered the carburetor.

The band wagon has no political affiliations and doesn’t endorse or condone anyone’s political beliefs. It is here to help those that wish enlightenment and share a common thread, getting the most from their chosen MM.

Welcome aboard

In other words Smoke, no there's no mikuni racism  when we thaw out up here you can come run mine and see what you think. Text me if you want details on the plans. Either that or I'll end up frustrated and you can help me install a mikuni and tune it lol. Let's hope its not the latter

When they put up the IPL, you'll be able to piece it together yourself. Briggs does kinda bundle some stuff together, but no telling if they will do one for the efi stuff. I kinda looked for it on their site, but I don't have the model number for an efi engine, and it doesn't really seem to be listed anywhere. There was almost zero information about them last time I looked.

The problem with putting the briggs on the older motors, as i understand it anyway, is that the EFI uses different ignition than the carb meaning flywheel and other parts are different. Learned this when i was asking about putting a PD EFI on a modded 37 (yes i know its redundant but im not going to be the gineau pig running a modded briggs efi) since the carb motors are harder to get now.

On another note, i have officially boarded...lighter bank account and all lol

Post Re: EFI Band wagon
The band wagon has noticed some recent strife between fellow beloved MMT members and it has truly saddened its heart. This forum has offered not only hope to some very hopeless souls but has provided endless hours of entertainment to those who are locked in the icy grip of winter or engaged in solitary servitude.

The band wagon would like to reach out to those who have lost hope, not only in humanity but in the whole MM community, and offer them some hope. Yes you too can find the salvation you so desperately seek by boarding the band wagon where all are greeted as friends.

You too can enjoy not only the benefits of restored harmony but optimal performance, reliability and efficiency from your chosen MM when you board the band wagon. The band wagon offers this and much, much more to all who board. It is true you will have to brave the slings and arrows of those who wish to poison and destroy the band wagon but you will know the sweet taste of I told you so when you lay your healing hands upon these non-believers as the band wagon boldly writes the next chapter of the story of MMs everywhere.

Gosh what can the band wagon do to make it a little less “gay”.

Some have an eye for this sort of thing you obviously do. So the band wagon without being judgmental of your chosen sexual orientation has to ask the expert in all things gay what can it do to make it “less gay?”

Not saying Efi is gay... In fact I'm all for it and sure I'll have it on a motor someday. I just think the long essays baron Von keeps writing are. He sure is proud of em though. He' has only linked to this thread about 20 times now.

Craig, how would they stack up against each other with 5 people in the boat?

My money's on the stage 1. I haven't heard a whole lot about the briggs EFI and loaded performance. Loaded performance to me is more important than just running side by side, and I would venture to say higher compression and some better heads and a cam would pump out more grunt than just direct port injection. But then again, the EFI is what 600 extra? And that type of stage 1 runs probably in the ballpark of 2300 or so.
