Post Customer Service from Go-Devil
I bought a used 25 hp Koehler to replace the used 18 Vanguard I had on my dux skiff. When I get one I usually go through them top to bottom so I won't have any problems. I removed a 9X7 prop off of it and ask the dealer to re-do the seals and get me a new 9X7 prop. He didn't and I was a little miffed. He said I tried to order you one but they won't do it? I was like what???? Go-Devil said the new 9X6 would work and the new 9X6 had more cup to it. Bottom line I just got back from the lake after a test run and there is no doubt that I'm spinning the prop faster (tiny tach) but it's the same prop that was on my 18hp?? Geez those guys drive me crazy.

When I order a bacon cheeseburger, they don't bring me a salad and say we thought this might be better for you.......... What's it to them if I want a bigger prop. I'm definitely through with those guys. So much for giving the customer what they want. Anybody else have similar experience with go Devil Staff?

I've never had anything but great dealings with Go-Devil, but I've never been to a dealer, live 10 minutes from the shop and just go straight there. I do recall Coco mentioning a while back that their props now have a heavier cup, so they dropped the recommended pitch an inch. GoDevil's site lists the 9x7 prop for the 27 Kohler, and 9x6 for the 23-25's. I have a 9x7 on my 24, and it runs great, but I do not know if its one of the "new" heavy cupped props.

That being said, if my dealer wouldn't put the prop I wanted on my motor, I wouldn't have left with one I didn't want.

@ Richard, I'm just saying if you want a new 9X7 for your 24 hp Go Devil tomorrow -- THEY WON"T SELL YOU ONE....... period. Talked with the dealer and then the staff/owner at Go-Devil cause I didn't believe the dealer. But you're right shouldn't have left the shop without what I wanted, I also shouldn't have believed what Go-devil was telling me. I know, I know, years of experience etc. But just give me what I want next time......

Have you tried calling Warren back since you got the prop? Tell him you are not happy, and you would like to exchange it for the one you originally requested. You tried his recommendation and were not satisfied.

16 X 48 john boat.... Not that it matters. I'm adult enough that if I asked for the 9X7 and it didn't work, after I went against what they told me- then my fault and my $$$$. One thing to beat a dead horse- another thing to know when to get off it. Bottom line if I want a 9X7 I'll have to go somewhere else. Richard- dare ya to go in there and ask for a 9X7 tomorrow and see if he doesn't throw something at ya!!

I had a 24 hp longtail modded by EVT and the 9x7 still ran like $hit. You'll be happier with the 9x6.

It's amazing how everyone I know including myself has had nothing but positive experiances with Warren Coco and Go Devil.
Either you are dealing with a bad dealer (in which case you should change the tittle of this thread) or we are not hearing the whole story.
Sorry, but if 1 out of 10,000 customers are not satisfied. Then it is not a crapy customer service issue, it's a crapy customer's personality issue.

Oh shit............. I guess I'm gonna be labeled a GD cheer leader now.

Thing about it is there is nothing wrong with a Go-Devil product hell i owned one for 5 yrs, only thing i changed out was a head gasket and i wan't soft with it, Customer service was second to none, i was up and going 2 days later with a little help from Mr. coco. That being said it is a good company putting out a good product, but i opted for the GTR cause i like the way the motor is setup and its advanced lol
