Is a 2k lb enough? 1644gd with 27. Saw HFright had the badland atv winches on sale thru december for $50 with the coupon. Didn't see anything bad about them online.

2k should be enough. A 2.5k or 3k is better but for $50 I'd try one.

Anybody know anything about the Champion 3000 that Tractor Supply sells. eBay has them for $86 shipped.

Biggest difference between the cheaper winches and more expensive is the amount of current they draw. Cheaper ones will drain your battery QUICK.

Also most cheaper ones aren't waterproof

I've had good luck with pro mark winches. (used to be gorilla winches)
They are a warn knock off and 100% waterproof and come with more in the box for half price of warn winch. But still better quality then the cheaper ones

i have the promark 4500 and it pulled my rig over a dirt road leve with no pvc rollers just bare dirt... had to re hook 2 times and she never missed a lick... well worth overrating because you never know what you might be faced against. the promarks are all the same measurements, just different gearing so they are small and mine is mounted in my storage on under my casting deck and comes out the front of the right above my trailer hook. In there it keeps my synthetic rope out of the sun and last longer.

Well I just bought the Promark 3000 with synthetic rope for $148 off eBay.

Figured it would pay for itself pretty quick if I get myself high and dry. Last year I just had to wait 2 hours for the tide to come. Would have been a 4-6 hour wait if it occurred on the outgoing tide.

Hopefully my dansforth anchor has enough bite to act as my pull point. Gonna have to do some experimenting when it comes in.

If you gonna be using it all the time like that then invest in the best winch you can get.
