Magtech Guardian Gold Pistol in 155 grn is what I buy for my wifes .40

Never had a misfire or issue with them and they are very accurate. Haven't had a chance to test the stopping power yet though :D

I kinda based my decision on the fact that people have been using ballistic tip ammo for years on animals.....

I'm on board on the theory of heavy clothing clogging up a conventional hollow point, i can say for sure I would not want to be shot by any of them

Like a lot of ammo these days marketing is everything! How many people do you think have been killed since WWI with ball ammo and FMJ's? I would suspect it is somewhere in the millions. Buy a round that is reliable, accurate, and that you can accurately shoot and shoot them in the face!

Speer gold dot

if you look in to what law enforcement carry you will find a good round. we do alot of r&d looking at different ammo. speer gold dot, remington golden sabre, the winchester fail safe (aka black tallon), are very good rounds. years ago i carried winchester 155gr silver tips. these were devistating rounds. we changed to black talons 180 gr. and they didnt seem to be as powerful. i asked the winchester rep at the time told me the silver tips were about a max load and they had complaints the alot of officers couldnt shoot them. i personaly liked them. they were one of the first leo loads offered. if they are still available and the same loading that would be my choice.

cor-bond horniday and others have good rounds. im not sure about some of the compressed metat or glaiser type rounds.

ill say this a double tap to center mass will work with just about anything every time.

My choice is Hydra-shok +p (labeled for LE). If regular Hydra-shoks are good, then the bigger HP and hotter load should be even better.

Hopefully will never need them but..

As for the testing shooting into water jugs...I'm not a fan.....you will get beautiful opening HP's every time. And with enough water, you can stop 50BMG.

As long as it fires it doesent matter what bullet you use, the person being shot at ain't gonna hang around and ask what type of bullet there being shot at with!!!
