a steady dog is the potential for taking pictures. There's time to fetch
a camera. Yesterday, Daisy stayed in her hide until I called her to action. 8-)

”Daisy's airness”

”splash down”

”drive”

”motion intensity”

”goose smile”

The pond is in the corner of 60 acres of corn. I have two bands from geese shot in the
field that were banded in Ontario. Then again there is a golf course about two miles away.

The owner keeps the grass around the pond mowed because grandchildren like to fish.
I try to help out by keeping the weeds near the shoreline "weed whacked". My dogs
train here most of the year. This is a photo from a few days ago. The pond was iced
over and there were geese all over the place.

Here's a photo from a few years ago right after the beans were harvested and just
before the waterfowl season opened. 8-)

What I meant was I see what appear to be geese just sitting there as the dog is retrieving. Are they decoys instead, cause if not I sure wish ducks and geese would react for me that way.

Oh, I get it now.

Yes, those are all decoys (except for the dead goose in the upper right-hand
corner). My van was "stuffed to the max". This was the biggest spread (40+)
I put out this season. We're frozen out today....totally iced over. I'm hoping
for a strong January thaw. ;)

Here's a photo of the set-up from my blind.
