Anyone running one of these boats? Do they handle well when paddled, poled? How about a mudmotor...anyone running a stumpjumper longtail or small HP (6.5) surface drive?

I got the fat boy dp and I built the mud motor. ITs a 6.5 long tail. It handles well. Im 6'5" 320 lbs and i can cary my self, a 200 lbs buddy and my dog. Its not very fast but way better than paddling! lol The boat is very stable. the catamaran hull design lets me stand up and run the mud motor with no problem. I'm thinking about up grading my engine to one of the briggs and stratton go kart race engine. Its the same weight and relative size as my 6.5 from harbor freight but putting out 14 hp. I would need to add a 2:1 gear reduction as that motor turns at almost 8000 rps and a mud motor prop is only effective to about 4000 rpms. I got real stuck not far form where the mud pic was taking. I need more torque and hp to run a bigger prop. Down here in SE TX the mud is like soup. Need more surface area on the prop to push through it. THe boat seems a little weak in the cockpit. Im going to add some fiberglass ribs when the season is over in a few weeks. The only reason i'm adding the ribs is that I'm so big. a normal sized guy not an ex-college offensive lineman would do fine without them. Just a little extra rigidity when climbing out of waist deep mud would be nice. everywhere else the boat is strong as nails. Ive towed it up the sabine river on camping trips. it works great as a tow sled. The closed bow and stern are awesome

I have the Momarsh DP. I cross open water with a Honda BF2, and use a push pole and paddle for the rest. The boats is very stable and poles easily with a little practice.
