Post subject:  What a Way to Start off the Memorial Day Weekend!
So, I bail out of work a little early, bust butt to get home and the family and I load up the family truckster. We got the whole eight foot bed packed up pretty good because we are going to bring my oldest daughter our "former" formal dining room table and chairs. We have the fishing gear, suitcases and everything you need for a Grand Isle fishing trip.

We leave the house and have about 20 miles of winding two lane roads to get to the I-55 and begin the trek south from upper mississippi. I am keeping an eye on the load in the back of the truck making sure nothing flying out or getting unstable. We get up on the interstate, get up to speed and I look back in the rearview mirror and catch a glimpse of space and know immediately something's not right! Pull over and look only to find that my tailgate dropped somewhere along the way and my large ice chest is now missing. Not too bad except...inside the large ice chest was my duffle bag full of clothes, pair of tennis shoes, pair of water boots, electric knife, fillet knife, toiletries bag with prescription meds, and finally...the camera bag! Olympus waterproof digital camera and Sony HD video camera!!

We back tracked all the way back to the house and not a single sign. The sad thing is, whoever picked it up could have looked at the prescription and called Kroger's pharmacy to get in touch with me...or look at the name tag on the duffle bag with my business card in it and called my cell phone. Really sucks!

Guess I'll start watching Craigslist!

No bueno! Had a cousin loose a duffel bag full of stuff heading to Buras one time. He wasn't out quite as bad as you. Hope the weekend takes an upturn for you.

That sucks.

It's amazing what can fly out without your knowing about it. I was redoing a kitchen one time and I ripped out all of the panelling and some cabinets. I drove to where I was going to dump it, but when I got there, the bed was empty :shock: No, I wasn't drunk ;) I must admit, I didn't do the right thing and go back and look for it for fear that I'd end up having to get out my checkbook ;)

In my life when there's no camera I'll see the craziest things, catch the biggest fish, and shoot the prettiest ducks! Hope you make out alright despite the loss!

No calls and house sitter says nobody has come by with the stuff.

On the bright side, we did have a good time in Grand Isle slaughtering big reds and little specks..actually, feeding and releasing little specks.

And to top it off, we are with my daughter and her family with our new granddaughter born Tuesday morning.
